Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. . . . No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Jesus taught his disciples how to display the glory of God’s Kingdom while living in the reality of a fallen world. Jesus calls all believers to light up the darkness by letting people see their good deeds. But as believers, it’s not enough to just do good things; our good deeds should also reflect the character of our heavenly Father so that he gets the glory. Do your actions point others to God? How can you be a light in your neighborhood, workplace, and home?
