Jeremiah 1:5

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.

In this verse, God was calling Jeremiah to bring divinely inspired messages to people who were uninterested in hearing them. Imagine how difficult it would be to tell an entire nation that their downfall was a result of their own sin. But before God sent Jeremiah out with this message, he reminded him of his great care for him. Even though these words were spoken to Jeremiah, they are also the living Word of God, written down so they could be applicable to us as well. When God calls you to do hard things, first open his Word to receive encouragement. It will always give you the courage, perspective, and strength to accomplish what he has asked you to do.
