One Thing In Common

One Thing In Common

Why do you need Jesus?

Who do you know who never sins?

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

Different people struggle with different sins, but we all have one thing in common—we all sin. We have all sinned, which is why we all need Jesus. We all fall short of God’s glory, no matter how hard we work to do good deeds, and no matter how well we behave ourselves.

The only way that we can atone for our sins, the only way that we can be forgiven, the only way we can be acceptable to God, is through Jesus Christ. We need to confess that we have sinned and fallen short, recognize and admit that we need God’s forgiveness. And we need to accept that Jesus gave his life as a sacrifice for us so that we can be forgiven. Then we can accept God’s gift of love and, in return, give our lives to him. In doing so, we honor God and are assured of spending the rest of eternity with him, in his glory.

PRAYER

Dear Jesus, we know that we have sinned, and we know that we need you in our lives. Thank you for paying the penalty for our sins on the cross. Help us to live our lives in a way that honors you. Amen.
