Mom Heart Moments #350
Mom Heart Moments #350
Let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
WHEN MAMAS GATHER IN my home for our annual Christmas tea, we take time to ponder Mary, on her journey through countries, through years of questions, through people seeking the life of her Son. Because of her heart and willingness to believe, Mary found favor with God. He chose her to bring Jesus into the world through her own body, to nurture Him within her home, so the Son of God could find comfort, beauty, and love for the years He would live on earth, even as we provide comfort, beauty, and love so our children will experience God Himself in our homes.
Mary was a simple mother whose heart gave all, that He might have a safe haven and find rest for His baby soul.
The gift we give to our children and those around us when we take time to listen and share life with them is the gift of presence, the same gift Jesus gave when He came to be “God with us.” It’s easy to lose sight of the people in our lives during the busyness of the holidays. But our families and friends need to know they are seen and known and loved.
This holiday season, remember buying one more thing will not satisfy a human heart. Investing love and heart time, however, will restore, redeem, and bring life and hope.
Christmas is the perfect season to make time to love, to talk, to share hearts, to show compassion.
Who needs you today? How might you especially offer the gift of dedicated listening and sharing time to a child or another family member this week? Who do you need to celebrate life with in this season?
