Mom Heart Moments #282
Mom Heart Moments #282
By You I can run upon a troop; and by my God I can leap over a wall.
ALL OF US HAVE WALLS IN OUR LIVES —circumstances that seem to stop our forward motion. If only we had more money, help, friends; if only we weren’t plagued by this illness or difficult marriage, or, or, or . . .
The glory of a woman who has Christ in her life is to mount those walls. If we believe in Him, we have no other choice than to live by what we know to be true, regardless of our feelings, the circumstances, our friends’ thoughts, or the world’s opinion of our circumstances. It is to God’s glory for us to live supernaturally.
When I accept the limitations of my own story, God opens channels of ministry that could never otherwise have been opened. My heart is unable to speak into other people’s lives powerfully unless I have personal experience in mounting some of the same walls they’re being faced with. Overcoming gives me a greater capacity for faith, compassion, and understanding of others in this battle of life.
I have loved David over the years because he faced so many incredibly difficult, seemingly insurmountable walls yet embraced God and believed that He was good. Because of this God-focused heart, he was chosen by God to have an inheritance forever and was called a man after God’s heart.
And so, it is to the honor of a godly woman, in the presence of her family and friends, to mount the walls in her life with joy that comes from obedience; with strength that comes from trusting God; and with beauty that comes from choosing to believe in God’s goodness and light in the midst of darkness.
What walls do you face today that will require determination? Which walls ask for your acceptance? Which walls must be struggled against even though there appears to be no possible way of victory? By your God, you can leap over the walls you face.
