Mom Heart Moments #278
Mom Heart Moments #278
While being reviled, He did not revile in return . . . but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously.
SEEMS THERE IS CONFLICT EVERYWHERE. In my family, with my children’s friends, in church, with coworkers —you name any place or group of people, and conflict is just lurking somewhere around the corner.
If there is anything that makes me want to quit, it is conflict or misunderstanding. And yet, if I am honest, I know it is in the times of conflict or difficulty He has worked most deeply in my soul.
It was in falling or being accused of falling that I learned more about the need to give people the grace I wanted. It was in being unjustly accused that I became more humble and in need of Him. It was in struggling through the conflict that has evolved over years in our family circle that I learned to have compassion on other women who struggle with their own backgrounds.
The older I become, the more I fall in love with Jesus. He could have screamed and yelled and become frustrated and accused others so many times! And yet, He has offered love over and over again. He is gentle and patient, loving abundantly and generously, even though none of us deserves it.
So, when there is conflict, I know running away is not an option. Bringing love and gentleness and courage into darkness heals and brings light.
If I want my soul to be made into the likeness of Jesus, I must seek to attain His gentle ways, His sacrificial love, His peacemaking heart. More and more, I humbly seek Him, asking Him to help me be filled with His Spirit, so that I may not offend Him, but may over the years become a true lover of people, as He is.
Determine to stay in the midst of the difficulties and conflicts of your own life, that He may teach you to love well.
