Mom Heart Moments #273
Mom Heart Moments #273
The eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous and His ears are open to their cry.
I HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF HOSTING several Bible studies with precious young moms in my home. Each has a different story, a different puzzle of life to figure out. Some work outside the home. Some live alone while their husbands travel. Others are single. And all are trying to live in a lifegiving way with these little ones who want to eat and to wear reasonably clean clothes every day and to be tucked into bed one more time.
Over the last weeks, I have asked my sweet moms, “How many of you have a grandmother, aunt, or someone in your life who helps you take care of your children occasionally, or is personally taking responsibility to help nurture and disciple your children?”
The result was shocking. Almost no one raised their hand; there were very few out of over a hundred that are in my various groups. It broke my heart that so many women were without female support for whatever reason —not living near their mothers or not having strong relationships with them.
I, too, spent most of my years mothering without support systems, help, prayer, or babysitting backup. But I would pour out my heart to God, and He would take me through one more day. His Spirit kept me going and filled in the cracks. He saw me on my knees. He saw in secret, and in spite of my limitations as a mom and wife, He worked.
I have prayed for you, precious one, who feel as though your life is invisible. You are seen. He hears the pleas of your weary heart. He longs to sustain you and support you. He who sees in secret will reward openly. I pray you will know peace, rest, beauty in the midst of this very important journey.
