Magnificent Prayer #9

I sought the LORD and He heard me.

Psalm 34:4 NKJV

The power of prayer rests in our faith that God hears us. It is this faith that gives a Christian courage to pray and to have power to prevail with God.

The moment I’m assured that God hears me, I feel drawn to pray and to persevere in prayer. I feel strong to claim and to take in faith the answer God gives.

One great reason for prayerlessness is the lack of the living, joyous assurance that God will hear us. But if God’s servants get a vision of the living God waiting to grant their request, and to bestow all the heavenly gifts of the Spirit they are in need of, for themselves or those they are serving, how everything would be set aside to make time and room for this wonderful power that ensures heavenly blessing—the power of faith!

Pray About It: Are you confident that God will hear you as you pray today? Or do you see Him as a passive but perhaps sympathetic bystander to your quiet times? If so, then you must change your theology today. Faith is active and powerful. Faith accesses all God’s provision for our every need. Without faith, prayer is a colossal waste of time.

Get hold of faith in God, and prayer will get a greater hold on you.

When a Christian can, and does say, in living faith, “My God will hear me!” surely nothing can keep him from prayer.
