Magnificent Prayer #355
Magnificent Prayer #355
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.
Psalm 42:1
It is not necessary for a man to shout and scream in order to prove he’s in earnest, yet on the other hand cold and formal askings must not expect to meet with any great response. God grants our requests only for Christ’s sake, nevertheless unless we pray to Him with warmth and reality, with intensity of spirit and vehemency of entreaty, we shall not obtain the blessing desired.

Pray About It: When we pray from the heart, the result will be an honest outpouring of our deepest needs. The worst thing we can do is cry artificial tears and plead with false fervor. God knows the truth. Don’t try to muster up excited emotions. God will have nothing to do with falsity.
Develop an inner stillness and confidence in God. And above all, be brutally honest with God. Approach Him with “warmth and reality.”
God can take all you can give.
Be yourself exactly before God and present your problems, the things you have come to your wits’ end about. Ask what you will, and Jesus Christ says your prayers will be answered.
