Magnificent Prayer #328

Continue in prayer.

Colossians 4:2 KJV

The great fault of the children of God is they do not continue in prayer; they do not go on praying; they do not persevere. If they desire anything for God’s glory, they should pray until they get it.

Oh, how good, and kind, and gracious, and condescending is the One with Whom we have to do! He has given me, unworthy as I am, immeasurably above all I had asked or thought!

GEORGE MUELLER

Pray About It: The operative word today is “continue.” Some of our requests turn into much more intensive prayer projects than we first imagined. It seemed so easy for God to simply grant our request and life would go on. But no, God has more in mind for this situation. When God wants to answer in a big way, He sometimes makes us stay on our knees longer. It makes the joy of answered prayer all the sweeter.

Prayer is to be incessant, without intermission, with no check in desire, in spirit or in act, the spirit and the life always in the attitude of prayer. The knees may not always be bended, the lips may not always be vocal with words of prayer, but the spirit is always in the act and intercourse of prayer.
