Magnificent Prayer #293
Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.
Acts 16:31
If you have a son or daughter that you are anxious about don’t be ashamed to present them for prayer; it shows your love for them. What better could we do for our children and our friends than to pray God to bless them; and any one that would get angry because we prayed for them must show they are under the power of the devil; they must have their hearts hardened, and be very blind…
Our God is able to break the hardest hearts. Let us make our requests known unto God; and let us expect he will give us an answer. He is constantly answering prayer for the sons and daughters that have been presented here and in other places, sons and daughters who have been presented for prayers have been saved…God is answering prayer. My dear friends, let us keep on praying. God is able to save these people, and there is none but God who does answer prayer.
Don’t let infidelity come in and make us believe that God has got a deaf ear and cannot answer: or that his arm is shortened and cannot deliver. Our God is a prayer-answering God. How many mothers have had their sons and daughters saved, not through some sermon, but by the mighty power of God converting them.

Pray About It: Today we pray for our sons and daughters. If you have none, then pray for someone else’s children. We’re thinking primarily of those children who have not yet accepted Christ or who have wandered very far from Him. God knows the heartbreak of a parent whose child is rebellious.
We are His children who were once far from Him, in rebellion. And God was grieved. Yet through His mercy He saved us.
It was for a good reason that Jesus told the parable of the prodigal son. It was to show the Father-heart of God aching for a child who has turned his back on what he knows is right. So God sees, knows, and understands fully about that wayward child.
He even knows about your obedient child. Our children are loved greatly by God. For them we must keep praying.
And as we look through the Bible, time and time again we see that God’s plan is for families to be saved. Noah’s family was on the ark. The Hebrew family was saved in their homes by the blood of the Passover lamb. Rahab’s family was saved by the scarlet cord in her window. When Jesus healed the son of a nobleman (John 4:53), the whole household was saved. Peter’s word to Cornelius was that all his household would be saved. Paul and Silas told their jailers that if they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, they and their household would be saved. God believes in “household salvation.”
Keep praying. Keep praying. Keep praying.
Once while traveling, William Booth’s rail car was detained. He took advantage of the opportunity and exhorted some idle factory workers. He said, “Some of you men never pray, you gave up praying long ago. But I’m going to say to you, won’t you pray for your children that they may be different?” Within minutes 700 men knelt in silent prayer.
Stand firm before God that your household may all be transformed.
