Plead with God: plead with God: plead with God! That praying is poor shift that is not made up of pleading. “Bring forth your reasons,” saith the Lord. Bring forth your strong arguments. O, what prayers were those of John Knox, when he seemed to say to God, “Save Scotland for this reason—for that reason—for another reason—for yet one more reason”—the number of his motives still multiplying with the fervor of his heart. So did he labor with God as though he pleaded for his life, and would not let Him go until he had gained his suit for Scotland.

Pray About It: John Knox had one burden: the people of Scotland. It was his prayer to God, “Give me Scotland or I die,” that caused Queen Mary to say she feared the prayers of John Knox more than an army of soldiers.
Can you be passionate about your desires? Passionate enough to plead with God unrelentingly?
O God of all power, who has called from death the great Pastor of the sheep, our Lord Jesus; comfort and defend the flock which He has redeemed by the blood of the eternal testament. Increase the number of true preachers, lighten the heart of the ignorant, relieve the pains of the afflicted, especially those who suffer for their Christian faith, by the power of our Lord Jesus Christ.
