Magnificent Prayer #203
I will save you from the hands of the wicked and redeem you from the grasp of the cruel.
Jeremiah 15:21
Your child is falling from a window. By the action of a natural law he will be killed. But he cries out for help, “Father! Father!” Hearing his call, in this his day of trouble, you rush forth and catch him in your arms. Your child is saved. Natural law would have killed him, but you interposed, and, without a miracle, saved him. And cannot the great Father of all do what an earthly parent does?

Pray About It: When we pray, we are often asking God to intervene in natural circumstances. We, or someone we love, is falling, and we cry for help. God catches us, so to speak, and changes the natural circumstances in such a way as to effect the outcome on our behalf. Sometimes we’re aware that God must do something about changing certain natural circumstances. There must be a miracle. God is not reluctant to help us either with natural means or with a miracle. Leave the choosing of the means to God, natural or miracle. If we’re falling fast enough and we’re caught, does it really matter how God intervenes, as long as He catches us? Then let God choose.
They tell us of the fixed laws of nature! but who dares maintain that He who fixed these laws cannot use them for the purpose of answering His people’s prayers?
