Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

We must bear in mind that mere resolutions to take more time for prayer and to conquer reluctance to pray will not prove lastingly effective unless there is a wholehearted and absolute surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray About It: Many times we begin the new year with resolutions to be more faithful in prayer. By January 20, we’ll have a good idea if the resolution will be kept. If the promise was made as a legalistic gesture, it will ultimately fail. But if it was a result of “wholehearted and absolute surrender to the Lord Jesus Christ,” it will succeed.
If your decision was the former, it can still be turned into the latter. Be honest with God. Ask Him to renew your passion for prayer. It will begin with a renewed passion for Him.
The place you give Jesus Christ in your life determines the place you give prayer.
