Magnificent Prayer #198
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Let each servant of Christ learn to know his calling. His King ever lives to pray. The Spirit of the King ever lives in us to pray. It is from heaven the blessings, which the world needs, must be called down in persevering, importunate, believing prayer. It is from heaven, in answer to prayer, the Holy Spirit will take complete possession of us to do His word through us.

Pray About It: When we pray, it is from heaven that we receive our answer—from another place entirely than this earth. We forget that because our citizenship is in heaven, we have access to every spiritual blessing. It’s no wonder then that Jesus told us to pray “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” For God’s will in heaven is forever good and right and perfect.
Can Thy will, O God, be done in earth as it is in heaven? It can be, and it must be; for a prayer wrought in the soul by the Holy Spirit is ever the shadow of a coming blessing, and He that taught us to pray after this manner did not mock us with vain words.
