Magnificent Prayer #189

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned.

1 Timothy 1:5 KJV

God doesn’t look at the elegancy of your prayers to see how neat they are; nor at the geometry of your prayers to see how long they are; nor at the arithmetic of your prayers to see how many they are; nor at the music of your prayers; nor the sweetness of your voice; nor the logic of your prayers; but at the sincerity of your prayers, how hearty they are.

THOMAS BROOKS

Pray About It: The common denominator of all prayers honored by God is that they come from a humble heart. The proud He will not hear. Don’t worry about anything except being entirely honest as you pray. God cannot be fooled. Lay it all before Him. Pour out your heart.

When does the building of the Spirit really begin to appear in a Christian’s heart? It begins, so far as we can judge, when the believer first pours out his or her heart to God in prayer.
