Magnificent Prayer #166
Magnificent Prayer #166
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:34
Let us move on and step out boldly, even if the darkness of night means that we can scarcely see our way.
The path ahead of us will open as we press on, like the trail through the forest, or the Alpine pass that discloses but a few rods of its length.
Often, God gives work for us to do without any light or illumination at all except His own command, but those who know the way to God can find it in the dark—one step at a time.
ALEXANDER MACLAREN
Pray About It: When we move ahead with God, very often only the next step ahead of us is visible. Our nature is to want the entire pathway lit. But if it were so lit, how could we walk by faith? It’s only as we trust God for the next dark step that we exercise faith.
As you pray, trust Him for today’s dark step. Don’t consider tomorrow. The light for tomorrow’s step will only shine tomorrow.
As every day demands its bread, so every day demands its prayer. No amount of praying today will suffice for tomorrow’s praying. No amount of praying for tomorrow is of any great value to us today. So leave tomorrow with its cares, its needs, its troubles in God’s hands. There is no storing tomorrow’s grace, neither is there any laying up of today’s grace to meet tomorrow’s necessities.
