More Than The World Offers
More than the World Offers
What is really important in life? Do we chase the world’s fortunes and accolades at the expense of our own spiritual welfare? Too often the answer to the second question is yes, and that response takes care of the answer to the first question. We can’t really deny it, but we can work to change that way of life before it’s too late.
Spend more quiet time with God. Read Scripture and other devotional materials more. Spend more time in prayer, and seek advice, encouragement, and prayer from others you trust.
Focus on spiritual things, and become more intentional about doing things for others, spending time with your family, and looking for opportunities to be a role model to others in your community.
Remember, who you are is not defined by worldly “stuff” but by your heart for God.
So make a habit of doing good for others, and in the process, you will glorify God.
His Promises
What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.
Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.
