Day 7: Choose Life Over Lie

Day 7: Choose Life Over Lie

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” (John 10:10, NLT)

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” (Philippians 1:6, NLT)

John 10:10 tells the truth plainly: the enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Often it begins quietly—stealing identity, stealing peace, stealing joy, stealing hope—until life feels smaller than what God intended. The parasite voice tries to convince you that your pain is your destiny and your struggle is your name.

But Jesus says He came so we may have life and have it abundantly.

Abundant life isn’t constant happiness. It’s rooted life. Supported life. A life that can breathe again. If you’ve battled anxiety, depression, or hopeless thoughts, hear this with tenderness: you are not weak for struggling. Your struggle is not your identity. And you do not have to carry this alone. God often heals through wise support—through prayer and community, through counsel and care.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us God finishes what He starts. That means you are not abandoned in process. You are not too much for God. You are not too complicated for healing. And you are not disqualified because you need support.

Today is a line-in-the-sand moment: agreement. Which voice gets your agreement—God’s Word or the parasite voice? Agreement shapes choices. Agreement shapes patterns. Agreement shapes your future.

So choose one truth statement and practice it like medicine:

“I am God’s workmanship—known and loved.”

“I reject condemnation; I receive truth.”

“I choose life over the lie.”

If you need help, reach for it. If you need community, ask for it. If you need professional support, pursue it. There is no shame in getting help. Hear me clearly: choosing support is choosing life.

Reflection:

Where do you need God’s life to grow in you right now? Who is one safe person you can reach out to this week?

Prayer:

Jesus, I choose Your life. Strengthen my mind, restore my joy, and guide my next steps. Help me agree with Your truth over my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.
