When Interruptions Become Divine Appointments
Lord, how did Jesus handle interruptions in his ministry?
One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so he could lay his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering him. But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.” And he placed his hands on their heads and blessed them before he left.
Matthew 19:13-15
When I’m interrupted, what should I be ready to do?
Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity. Look after each other so that none of you fails to receive my grace. Watch out that no poisonous root of bitterness grows up to trouble you.

What can I pray to handle life’s interruptions with wisdom and grace?
Your wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
James 3:17
Jesus always made time for people, even when they interrupted him. His disciples were frustrated by the little children, seeing them as a burden. But Jesus invited the children to come to him. How do you respond when others interrupt you? When people need your time or attention, are you resentful or welcoming of them? Whenever you’re confronted by distractions or interruptions, stop and pray, “God, what is most important in this moment?” Try to see interruptions as divine appointments.
