Prayer lays hold of God’s plan and becomes the link between His will and its accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer.

Practice the daily habit of talking to Me. You have been dismissing prayer because it seems mysterious and you’re not sure how it works. But I have designed prayer as the mechanism that leads you to strength and victory in your life. Prayer allows you to partner with Me in the fulfillment of My will. You can personally contact Me any time of the day or night. Through prayer the power of heaven comes down to earth.

Prayers don’t need to be long and eloquent. Talk to Me as a friend. Express your praise and thanks. Then present your requests. Ask Me to be involved in your daily living and in your urgent needs. Voice your concerns as the psalmist did: “Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help” (Psalm 28:2). When you pray, you invite Me to come into the middle of your problems and work on your behalf. “The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with” (James 5:16, MSG). Talk to Me about anything and know that I’m listening to your every word.

You faithfully answer our prayers with awesome deeds, O God our savior. You are the hope of everyone on earth.
