No matter how devastating our struggles, disappointments, and troubles are, they are only temporary. No matter what happens to you, no matter the depth of tragedy or pain you face, no matter how death stalks you and your loved ones, the resurrection promises you a future of immeasurable good.

The empty tomb is there to remind you that Jesus rose from the dead. My Son’s death paid for your wrongdoing and for the sins of the world. The Resurrection is your assurance of a future in heaven that will be free of death, discouragement, suffering, and pain. It is the evidence that indisputably identifies Jesus as My Son.

Right now you don’t see things clearly. It feels as if you’re squinting in a fog or gazing through a mist. But soon you’ll see what the empty tomb ultimately means to you. The apostle Paul said, “We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!” (1 Corinthians 13:12, MSG). He lists three things you need to do as you get ready for the ultimate resurrection: “Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly” (1 Corinthians 13:13, MSG). Hold on. You’re not home yet.
