In your brokenness and imperfection, God whispers three words: You are mine.

Do you know who you are? You’ve looked in the mirror and criticized the way I made you. You’ve evaluated your life and underscored all your failings. You’ve wished you were smarter, more talented, more energized, and more successful. You’ve listened to degrading words from someone else about your lack of accomplishments. Stop believing what other people say and quit accepting the labels they’ve placed on you. Resist the temptation to look at your broken places and then to feel unloved and unimportant.

Start believing what I’ve said about you—and let that define you. You are created in My image. I’m pleased with the way I made you. I’ve adopted you and given you the gift of My Holy Spirit. You’re in My family. I’ve given you spiritual gifts that will bless the people around you. Don’t allow the opinions of others to define you. Let your brokenness bring you to My arms and hear Me whisper, “You are mine. I love you. I will take care of you. I will never let go of you.” Fix your heart on My promises and move forward in confidence. When you need answers, My Spirit will guide you. Your identity is this—you are My precious child.

He has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us.
