God’s Grand Story

When we submit our lives to what we read in Scripture, we find that we are not being led to see God in our stories but our stories in God’s. God is the larger context and plot in which our stories find themselves.

Your story is woven into the fabric of My grand story. Sometimes you feel forgotten, insignificant, or unimportant—but that is another lie the enemy is tempting you to believe. Review the history of the beginning of time. I created the heavens and the earth. Then I created man and woman. The people I made in My image sinned, but after the Fall, I gave them a path to redemption.

When suffering clouds the vision you have of My purpose for your life, remember that I chose you to become like My Son (Romans 8:29). Jesus endured suffering on earth, and it will be part of your journey too as you are conformed to His image. Don’t be shocked by these things. Come to Me for comfort. When you come to something in your story that makes no sense, remember to look back at My story in My Word. You don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow. You do know what’s happened in the past and what will take place in the future. I am the Author of this story—and your final chapter will bring overflowing joy, perfect peace, freedom from pain, and a stunning new home. It’s all because you’re a part of My grand story. Trust Me. The ending of your story here on earth is the beginning of the best part of your journey.
