Choices
Choices
Choices can change our lives profoundly. The choice to mend a broken relationship, to say “yes” to a difficult assignment, to lay aside some important work to play with a child, to visit some forgotten person—these small choices may affect many lives eternally.
Gloria Gaither
The most important choice you ever made was to become a follower of Jesus Christ. Now that you are a believer, I give you choices every day about how you can live out your faith. Each day is busy and filled with activity that captures your attention and demands your time. Some of the people around you clamor for help, even though they are capable of moving forward on their own. Others never ask for assistance, and you must be alert to their needs. Allow wisdom to guide you, and then be decisive with the intentional use of your time.
Some questions you can ask yourself are: Who would appreciate a visit from me? How can I bring a smile to a child’s face? Do I owe anyone an apology? Is there an action I need to take that will further the Kingdom of God? Whom can I bless with my words? When you make choices—even small ones—that bless others, you will experience unexpected joy that permeates your being and overflows into the lives of others. With practice, you will begin making good choices on a daily basis.
Wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe.
