Sitting In Silence With God

Sitting in Silence with God

The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him. So it is good to wait quietly for salvation from the Lord. . . . Let them sit alone in silence beneath the Lord’s demands.

Lamentations 3:25-26, 28

What do you usually do when you spend time alone with God?

Do you pray? Read your Bible? Journal?

As good as these activities are, sometimes they can distract you from simply being with God.

Let go of “doing” and “producing” in your time with God today. Don’t try to make something happen—just be yourself with the one who created you.

Sit in silence with God for at least five minutes.

Begin by praying, “Lord, I just want to be with you.” If distracting thoughts come to mind, jot them down to deal with another time.
