God’s Care for Animals

The Lord God formed from the ground all the wild animals and all the birds of the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would call them, and the man chose a name for each one. He gave names to all the livestock, all the birds of the sky, and all the wild animals.

Genesis 2:19-20

You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.

Psalm 36:6

Read the verses again and think about how God cares for animals. Search online for a website that lists endangered animals, and choose one animal to educate yourself on.

Next, reflect on how God must feel to see his creations ceasing to exist. Prayerfully consider how God might be calling you to care for his animals—perhaps by donating to an organization that helps endangered species or volunteering at a local animal shelter.
