Compassion toward Your Community

A man with leprosy came and knelt in front of Jesus, begging to be healed. “If you are willing, you can heal me and make me clean,” he said. Moved with compassion, Jesus reached out and touched him. “I am willing,” he said. “Be healed!”

How willing are you to reach out to the outcasts or disenfranchised in your community—for example, the sick, the homeless, the elderly, or the criminals?

How might God be calling you outside your comfort zone to show compassion in one of these areas?

Perhaps by writing a letter to an inmate, taking flowers to a nursing home, serving food at a homeless shelter, or donating to a food pantry?

If you are not able to do something today, schedule a time in the upcoming weeks to serve with your family or friends.
