The mountains near my home are like magnets for winter sports enthusiasts. Skiers and snowboarders from around the world brave the elements to test their skills on the slopes. Unfortunately, some also test the safety boundaries that park authorities set, and they end up in trouble. Unable to help themselves, they call for assistance, and trained volunteers rush to their rescue.

Such is the Holy Spirit’s intercessory ministry on our behalf when we find ourselves at a loss. He comes alongside to join us in that place. He feels our pain. He reads our thoughts. He hears the words we can’t express. He knows every detail about our circumstances, and he initiates a supernatural rescue mission designed to bring us through them.

You might feel totally inadequate for the challenges facing you today, but be encouraged in knowing that you can call on the Holy Spirit to help you, and he will rush to your rescue.
