My Question for God

How am I worthy to be a follower of God?

A Moment with God

[Jesus said,] “I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”

Luke 10:19-20

There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins.

Romans 8:1-3

Don’t think you are better than you really are. Be honest in your evaluation of yourselves, measuring yourselves by the faith God has given us.

Romans 12:3

Most of us struggle to see ourselves with twenty-twenty vision! Either we fail to see our faults, or we fail to see our value. God loves you for who you are, not because of what you do for him. God loved you before you made your first mistake, before you uttered your first word, and even before you took your first breath. His love for you is an eternal thread woven throughout your life and fortified through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus on your behalf. It is hard to believe that God’s approval doesn’t depend on what you do. Sometimes it is easy to get so caught up in the experience of serving God that you lose sight of the greatest privilege of all—knowing God and being known by him. To have your name registered as a citizen of heaven means that you belong, without question, to the eternal kingdom of God. Nothing else you do on earth can compare with that privilege or joy. Don’t get caught in the trap of basing your identity or self-worth on your performance. Rejoice that they are based on God’s unconditional love.
