Wisdom

Wisdom

My Question for God

Can I learn to be wise?

A Moment with God

The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.

Job 28:28

Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom.

Psalm 111:10

Fear of the LORD is the foundation of wisdom. Knowledge of the Holy One results in good judgment.

Proverbs 9:10

Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives.

Colossians 3:16

Solving a complex mathematical equation or writing a computer program requires great intelligence. But such intelligence does not guarantee a fulfilled, balanced, or productive life. Success in relationships, fulfillment of your life’s purpose, and spiritual maturity are more dependent on wisdom than on intellect. Successfully navigating through life requires great wisdom, and wisdom grows out of a knowledge of God and a respect for his commands. Wisdom is what transforms head knowledge into discernment and common-sense action. True wisdom comes from God. God reveals his wisdom through his Word, but only those with humble and teachable hearts that are committed to steady obedience will absorb it. Even raw life experience doesn’t always produce wisdom. Only experience prayerfully linked to the truths of Scripture allows wisdom to flourish in your life. In essence, wisdom is more about the God you know than about the facts you know.
