My Question for God

I know I should tithe but I have so many other expenses. Is tithing really necessary in God’s eyes?

2 Corinthians 9:7

Tithing is not just a religious law. Tithing is both practical and symbolic. Practically, tithing is a means of supporting the church and the work of godly people around the world. When you give, you do so because you believe in the church and in the work it is doing. Symbolically, giving the first part of your earnings to the Lord demonstrates that he is your number one priority and that you are grateful for the blessings he has given you. When you tithe, you are not only supporting God’s work, other believers, and those in need; you are also showing your commitment to God and honoring him for his provision and faithfulness. Maintaining a habit of regular tithing is always a divine moment because it keeps God at the top of your priority list and gives you a proper perspective on the rest of your paycheck. Instead of asking, “How much of my money do I need to give to God?” ask yourself, “How much of God’s money do I need to keep?”

Divine Promise

[The Lord said,] “You have cheated me! “But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’ “You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. . . . Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!”
