Pain

Pain

My Question for God

What hope do I have for living through painful circumstances?

A Moment with God

We believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved.

Romans 8:23-24

After you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.

1 Peter 5:10

Whether from betrayal, neglect, or abandonment or from a broken bone or failing health—the result is some kind of emotional or physical pain. When you look back on your life, you may remember the physical tension of your aching body or the chest-tightening ache that comes from a broken heart. Your greatest hope in times of pain is finding healing from God. He doesn’t take the day off and forget about you. When you accidentally cut yourself, you become completely focused on how bad it is and on how to stop the bleeding. When you feel God has abandoned you, it might be because you have become so focused on easing the pain of your problems that you have neglected God and forgotten that he has promised to help you in your difficulties. Although God does not promise to remove your pain in this life, he does promise to be with you in it and give you hope and purpose in midst of your aching body and souls.

Divine Promise

What we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

Romans 8:18
