My Questions for God
Does God care about my physical health? Isn’t spiritual health more important to him?
A Moment with God
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.
1 Timothy 4:8
God is concerned about both. Your Creator knows that your spiritual disciplines—worship, prayer, obedience to God’s Word—have a profound impact on your physical life, and that your physical habits—from nutrition to hygiene—influence your spiritual life. God’s presence in your life should affect what you do and say. You must remember that God cares deeply about the condition of both your body and your soul. Spiritual exercise is as purposeful and strenuous as physical exercise. But it is important to remember that the benefits of spiritual fitness last for eternity while the benefits of physical fitness last only as long as your body. Knowing the eternally long-term benefits of spiritual exercise should motivate you to keep your physical and spiritual health in a wholesome balance and help you to experience a vibrant relationship with your Creator.
Divine Promise
The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.
Isaiah 58:11
