A Moment with God

Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked.

Psalm 1:1

Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.

Psalm 86:4

Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths.

Psalm 119:1-3

Happiness comes from obeying God’s Word, which he gave to us with our best interests in mind. Many people bring unhappiness on themselves by choosing lifestyles that are destructive. Someone craving acceptance and love may choose sexual involvement outside marriage, which leads to pain and emotional scars, the natural consequence of intimacy without commitment. Someone else may believe that exorbitant wealth is so important that it’s worth using dishonest means to acquire it. But true, long-term happiness is cultivated by following the principles God designed for your long-term well-being. God graciously provides positive, healthful life principles through his Word. It is by doing what is right that you can enjoy life without fear of how it will turn out.

Divine Promise

Do what is right and good in the LORD’s sight, so all will go well with you.
