Fun
Fun
My Question for God
How does having fun help me experience God’s blessings?
A Moment with God
[Nehemiah said,] “Go and celebrate with a feast . . . and share gifts of food with people who have nothing prepared. This is a sacred day before our Lord. Don’t be dejected and sad, for the joy of the LORD is your strength!”
Nehemiah 8:10
For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. . . . A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.
Ecclesiastes 3:1, 4
The master was full of praise. “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount. . . . Let’s celebrate together!”
Matthew 25:21
Judging from the number of feasts and festivals God instituted for the Israelites, he intended for his people to have fun. He desires for you to laugh and enjoy life. This gives you a small taste of the joy you will experience in heaven. But having fun should be in balance with work and never conflict with the moral codes God has given you in his Word. Joy, fun, and celebration as God intended are important parts of walking with him because they lift your spirits and help you see the beauty and richness in life. When you find yourself enjoying the moment, thank God for blessing you with a taste of eternity.
Divine Promise
He fills my life with good things.
