Good advice is not merely helpful; it brings relief when it comes to you at just the right moment. God can use the advice of a trained counselor or even a conversation with a trusted friend as a turning point in your life. He often allows the words of others to reach you at the moment when you are most ready to receive it. No one is wise enough to anticipate all the possibilities of a situation or to grasp all the issues related to a problem. Refusing to listen to others is a sign that you’re not ready for change or spiritual growth. Right counsel that is consistent with God’s Word can make the difference between success and failure, joy and sorrow, prosperity and poverty, victory and defeat. At the critical moment, when you’re most ready to hear it, God’s wisdom will penetrate your heart.
