How can I overcome my insecurities and be more confident?

To think more highly of yourself than you should is pride. But to think less of yourself than you should is false humility. And false humility can even turn into pride! Between the two extremes lies true self-esteem—an honest appraisal of your own worth. God values you highly because he loves you deeply. But you must not think you can be self-sufficient and live without God. Your sufficiency is in God. Your value is tied to the value he places on you and the purpose for which he created you. That makes you a man of great value indeed. If you struggle with insecurities, perhaps you are measuring your value by the wrong standards. The only thing that matters—and the only way to become confident—is to find your value as a creation and a masterpiece of God. When you understand how much God loves you, you will feel more confident in yourself. You should have a healthy self-esteem because with God you are capable of doing far more than you ever could have dreamed.
