MY QUESTIONS for GOD

Why does God show me mercy? How can I learn to be more merciful to others?

A MOMENT with GOD

The Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart.

Genesis 6:6

God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth.”

Genesis 9:1

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever. He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

Psalm 103:8-10

God looked at all the evil and violence that reigned on earth before the Flood, and it broke his heart. After the Flood, God blessed Noah and told him and his sons to multiply and fill the earth. Why would God want to risk having the same thing happen all over again? Because of his mercy and love. God’s mercy gives us a second chance even when we don’t deserve it. God’s amazing love for us is the reason he is so merciful. God chooses to show mercy to those he loves and who love him. Even though our sin and rebellion against God deserve his punishment; he offers us forgiveness and eternal life instead. When you understand that you don’t deserve God’s mercy but he gives it to you anyway, then you will experience a divine moment in which you feel the full impact of God’s love for you. Only then will you be able to truly love others and show them mercy, even when they don’t deserve it. The mercy you show them will be a reflection of God’s unconditional love.

DIVINE PROMISE

When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of his grace he declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. Titus 3:4-8
