Courage
MY QUESTION for GOD
Why doesn’t God take away my greatest fears?
A MOMENT with GOD
All the believers lifted their voices together in prayer to God: “. . . . O Lord, hear their threats, and give us, your servants, great boldness. . . . Stretch out your hand with healing power; may miraculous signs and wonders be done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:24, 29-31
Having hope will give you courage.
Job 11:18
The early church was constantly threatened with persecution. The believers did not pray for the threats to be taken away but for the courage to face them. Sometimes God will remove the things that frighten you. But more often the Holy Spirit gives you the boldness to turn those fears into opportunities for spiritual growth and sharing your faith. If God were to take away everything that frightens you, there would be no need for hope in your life. It is hope that helps you see beyond your immediate crisis and place your current problem, as well as your eternal future, in God’s hands. When you are overwhelmed by the enormity of the problem facing you, let it be a divine moment of recognition that God is right by your side.
DIVINE PROMISE
Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
