Why do I get angry?

The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.

Anger is often a reaction to your pride being hurt. When you are confronted, rejected, ignored, or don’t get your way, anger acts as a defense mechanism to protect your ego. It is common to feel angry when someone confronts you about your own sinful actions because you don’t want others to know that you’ve done something wrong. When anger begins to well up inside you, stop and ask yourself, Who is really offended in this situation? Is this about God’s honor or my pride? Am I acting out of humility or revenge? Confession, forgiveness, and reconciliation will melt your anger away.
