Victory

Victory

MY QUESTION for GOD

How can I experience victory in my life?

A MOMENT with GOD

King Sihon declared war on us and mobilized his forces at Jahaz. But the Lord our God handed him over to us. . . . The Lord our God also helped us conquer Aroer . . . and the whole area as far as Gilead. . . . Next we turned and headed for the land of Bashan, where King Og and his entire army attacked us at Edrei. But the Lord told me, “Do not be afraid of him, for I have given you victory over Og and his entire army.”

Deuteronomy 2:32-33, 36; 3:1-2

With God’s help, the Israelites experienced victory after victory as they marched toward the land God had promised them. Your greatest victory has already been won by Christ, when you received God’s gift of salvation (see 1 John 5:4). But you need daily victory over the strongholds of sin that threaten your ability to live and lead effectively for God and be a victorious example to others. To experience victory in the Christian life, commit yourself to vigorous spiritual training and preparation (see Ephesians 6:10-18). This starts with constant prayer and consistently reading and obeying God’s Word. In the passage above, we see that when the people invited God to be part of their lives, and when they consistently tried to obey him, they experienced victory. Too often leaders get so busy and overwhelmed that they neglect God. He is no longer their top priority. When you put God first, through prayer and the study of his Word, you will experience daily victory over sin and Satan’s tactics to derail your relationship with God and those you lead.
