Ecclesiastes 10:13

There is a difference between being a risk-taker and being a fool. The Bible warns us not to take risks that ignore or contradict sound principles. Consulting God and wise, godly friends before taking action provides a higher chance of success. Fools rarely consult others, they never consult God, and they make plans that are mostly for personal gain. God looks for wise and obedient risk-takers, not foolish people who plunge ahead without first seeking his guidance.

The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid or discouraged.”

Joshua 8:1

Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work . . . is finished correctly.

1 Chronicles 28:20

Don’t be afraid to risk failure. The only true failure is that which utterly defeats you and makes you unable to try again. Joshua was defeated at the battle of Ai. He dealt with the causes of defeat head-on, then led his army out once again into battle, and they won a great victory. You must have the courage to face failure and take risks again. The lessons you learn from your failures will make you better able to assess risks in the future. If you don’t give up, yesterday’s failure can become tomorrow’s victory.

DIVINE PROMISE
