Responsibility

Responsibility

MY QUESTION for GOD

Why do I need to take responsibility for my actions?

A MOMENT with GOD

It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it.

Genesis 3:12

[Pilate] sent for a bowl of water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. The responsibility is yours!”

Matthew 27:24

Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew.

Proverbs 24:12

When God confronted Adam for his sin, Adam’s first response was to blame Eve. Pilate tried to deflect responsibility for sentencing Jesus to death. Unfortunately, that is often the pattern in our world. Few people take responsibility for their own actions; they prefer to blame someone or something else. God says that we are responsible for our own conduct. Be courageous—take responsibility for yourself and your actions. You will be more motivated to do what is right, and you will win the respect of others.
