MY QUESTION for GOD

How can the act of remembering help me in my spiritual walk?

A MOMENT with GOD

For I, the Lord, am the one who brought you up from the land of Egypt, that I might be your God. Therefore, you must be holy because I am holy.

Leviticus 11:45

I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.

Psalm 63:6

That is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. . . . Do not become proud at that time and forget the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt.

Deuteronomy 8:11, 14

Remember the days of long ago; think about the generations past. Ask your father, and he will inform you. Inquire of your elders, and they will tell you.

Deuteronomy 32:7

When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.

Genesis 9:16

Many times God reminded the Israelites that he was the one who rescued them from Egypt. Why was it important to keep reminding them? God is the one who helps fight and win life’s battles. Remembering how he has helped you in the past gives you hope and confidence that he will help you in the future, especially when it seems as if no human solution is possible. Remembering the miracles of God reminds you of his divine nature and helps you notice the divine moments when he breaks into your life in a special way. When you have lost hope, think back to God’s previous work in your life. When you recount God’s past faithfulness before others, it can be an act of worship. It can also introduce an unbeliever to the greatness of your God. If you can’t think of any ways God has worked for you in the past, remember God’s greatest work in you—the work of your salvation. That is the greatest miracle of all.
