What are the benefits of being in God’s presence?

A MOMENT with GOD

The Lord replied, “I will personally go with you, Moses, and I will give you rest—everything will be fine for you.”

When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the Lord.

Jeremiah 29:12-13

Moses literally glowed from being in God’s presence. He understood that without God’s presence he was nothing more than a mere human. If he was going to be able to take God’s people on a divine journey and follow God’s call, he knew he had better follow God’s lead. The only way to follow God is to stay within his presence, which means to keep your focus on him. Keeping your eyes on God ensures that you stay close to him, and it takes you in the direction he wants you to go. God’s presence also refreshes you by giving you rest, peace and strength. It helps you align your thoughts with God’s thoughts so you can know his will. Sometimes you may not want God quite that close because it might mean a radical change in your lifestyle. But if you could see the end result of living daily in God’s presence, you wouldn’t want to wait to get started!
