What should I invest in?

A MOMENT with GOD

[Jesus] told them a story: “A rich man had a fertile farm that produced fine crops. He said to himself, ‘What should I do? I don’t have room for all my crops.’ Then he said, ‘I know! I’ll tear down my barns and build bigger ones. Then I’ll have room enough to store all my wheat and other goods. And I’ll sit back and say to myself, “My friend, you have enough stored away for years to come. Now take it easy! Eat, drink, and be merry!”’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’ Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

Luke 12:16-21

How dangerous it is to be a success in the world but a failure with God! Leaders constantly fight this temptation because they are pushed even more than others to be successful in this life. But to gain the world and lose your soul is the ultimate failure, for your soul is eternal but all the things of this world will pass away. It takes a truly wise investor to learn what kind of investing needs to be done now in order to gain wealth and success in eternity. Spend as much time studying how to invest in your spiritual life into eternity as you spend thinking about your earthly investments in your savings or retirement accounts. You can’t afford to risk losing everything because you invested in the wrong things.

DIVINE PROMISE

IF YOU TRY TO HANG ON TO YOUR LIFE, YOU WILL LOSE IT. BUT IF YOU GIVE UP YOUR LIFE FOR MY SAKE, YOU WILL SAVE IT. AND WHAT DO YOU BENEFIT IF YOU GAIN THE WHOLE WORLD BUT LOSE YOUR OWN SOUL? IS ANYTHING WORTH MORE THAN YOUR SOUL?   Matthew 16:25-26
