Humility
Humility
MY QUESTION for GOD
How can humility be helpful?
A MOMENT with GOD
Jacob prayed, “. . . I am not worthy of all the unfailing love and faithfulness you have shown to me, your servant. When I left home and crossed the Jordan River, I owned nothing except a walking stick. Now my household fills two large camps!”
Genesis 32:9-10
Often when we prosper and all is well, we fall into pride and begin to think that we have achieved it all. Pride elevates you above others, even above God himself. But Jacob realized that he was not worthy of what he had. This is a mark of humility. Humility comes when you recognize that you need God and then acknowledge that God met your needs! God takes care of the humble. Humility is the honest recognition of your worth as God sees you, not as you wish to be seen by others. When you come to God in humility, your prayers will be answered. You are taking the important step of recognizing that God’s will for your life will lead you toward what is good and right and away from sin and harm. You become humble when you realize your vulnerability before God and your complete dependence upon him.
DIVINE PROMISE
