Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

JESUS CHRIST SAID, “AND BECAUSE iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold” (Matthew 24:12). Has yours?

The Cross of Jesus Christ calls us to pattern our lives after the example of Jesus. There is no sanctified life that is not crucified, or dead, to the lure of this present age. We are not saved and sanctified to see our Lord glorified in our way of thinking, but for God to take us victoriously along the pathway of obedience with Him. The characteristic of the sanctified life is obedience.

If you want to be spiritually weak and submissive to the spirit of this age, you will be popular. Carnal men and women would rather magnify the idea of the Cross than submit to the humiliation of the Cross. May God get us to the point of submission!

Prayer Thought: Forgive me, Lord, when I trust too much in material things and displease You.
