Deeper Life #52

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

—Romans 12:1

EVERY TIME GOD GAVE ABRAHAM the promise of a blessing, he erected an altar and gave it back to God. Paul says this should be true even in our lives. God gave us our bodies; we are to give them back to Him as living sacrifices. This is something that God cannot do for us. It is something we have to do. We have to give Him a definite gift of ourselves.

God grant that you will come to this point of giving! God grant that this passionate entreaty of Paul be mightily fulfilled in your life today, for the glory of the Lord!

The Lord will spoil you for this age. Your passionate love for God will refashion you from a love of this world.

Prayer Thought: Possess me fully, Lord, and fashion me according to Your will.
